Big windows and made from wood and glass sliding door give lots of light and make impression of lightness and clean look. This clean look is even more intense thanks to white noren curtains with name of restaurant written in hiragana, white paper of menu list on windows and white sign boards with black kanji and hiragana signs.
Tempura Imoya has two similar looking entrances opened for two streets.

Inside Tempura Imoya looks simple too. Kitchen area is opened and customers sitting behind counter can see how chefs prepare their food and how kitchen looks like.

Counter is U-shaped and there are lots of seats for customers. In general it looks like lot of space in this restaurant. It is because there are only important things and just few decorations, which are also useful like calligraphy with opening hours (11am-8pm) over door.

Kitchen counters are covered and made from aluminium so it is easy to keep them clean. It is important factor.
There is huge pan for deep frying from the left side of kitchen. This is the pan in which tempura in fried.
In this area kitchen counter is covered by metal plate to not make customers injured in case when hot oil may splash.
Atmosphere is quiet and nice. People come to Imoya to eat tempura so they stay quiet and just eat. It is same simple like its interior design. No raising voices, no drinking, no smoking. People observe young chef making tempura. And it looks like many customers are people from neighbourhood.

There are two basic order options in Tempura Imoya. Menu is written and displayed on the door, so people can make decision about order before they enter to restaurant.
Also it is possible to make some extra order from few menu options displayed inside, at wall from the right side of entrance.

When you make decision, you must just tell your order to one of chefs and your dish will be prepared for you and served on counter.
When you want to pay, inform about this older chef and give him money.

Lunch menu is simple but very tasty.
I ordered tempura set and my friend ordered ebi set.
We both received first cup of hot green tea, small bowl with dipping sauce,

and bowl of miso soup based on corbicula broyh,shijimi no misoshiru in Japanese.

Later old chef placed on counter in front of us two bowls of rice.
We had to wait a bit for tempura.
Tea is for free and you can ask for refill. Pickled ginger is for free as well.
You can see how chef is preparing your tempura.
In Tempura Imoya chefs use white fish meat(kisu in Japanese, Japanese Whiting), squid and prawns as well as vegetables.
In my tempura I could find nicely friend in light batter: piece of kabocha (Japanese pumpkin), prawn, pieces of squid and shungiku, type of eatable chrysanthemum also called crown daisy. It tastes very good.
My friend had ebi temputa set for 850yen so he got fried ebi and shungiku plate, rice and miso soup.

I like this restaurant and I highly recommend it. It is simple but clean, service is good, food delicious and atmosphere peaceful and relaxing. Another thing I like about Imoya is its space and lots of light. Even in rainy and gloomy day it is nice to eat there.
Ingredients are very fresh, tempura well prepared, batter light and crunchy, not oily at all. This is good place for people who like good food and simplicity.

• portions are big enough to feel satisfied and worthy their price
• smoking is prohibited
• it is not place to stay long, just to eat and go
• single customers are very welcomed same as small groups
