There are three white cubes (lamps) with kanji over sliding doors, green fabric awning and red noren ( short curtin covering upper part of doors), two airconditioners from left and kanji sign board from right. There is aloso Sushi Bar Menu hand-writing in hiragana and kanji below the sign board. You can order basicaly two types of sushi: nigiri zushi and chirashi zushi.

The Sushi bar Daigen is pretty small inside. There is a wooden counter from the left with 8 seats at the counterand from right side two tables with seats for 4 people.

The Sushi Bar Daigen seems very popular, because when I came there almost all tables were occupied and I had had to wait in queue for place to seat. Also sometimes customers must share table with others. But this is norma in casual lunch for working person in Japan and people do not mind, are kind and discreet.

Customers eating on the counter can observe how sushi chef is preparing their sushi and how look pieces of fish which he use, because they are displayed behind glass on counter. There is chance to drink some sake and shochu there. All place looks a bit rustic but nice and clean and smells of cooked rice and fresh fish.Nice aroma.

Ordered Sushi Lunch Set(Nigiri ichininmae in Japanese language), is coming pretty soon. Except portion of sushi you can get also bowl of clear fish based broth with spring onions as a garnish or wakame flating inside. Portion of nigiri zushi and soup were big enough to make me feel satisfied. I ordered portion but is is alos possible to order 1,5 of portion if you are really hungry.
I ate sushi lunch set twice in Daigen so far.
Fist time I ordered portion of nigiri zushi and my friend, hungry man, ordered 1,5 portion nigiri as well. Selection of fresh fish was simple but tasty. My nigiri contained rice (naturally) and pieces of yellow tale, tuna, mackrel, salmon, squid, crab meat and Japanese omlette. Together I have got 7 pieces of nigiri and 3 small roles of maki zushi with cucumber and pickles. There was also wasabi and pickled ginger which I like a lot. My friend got 8 portions of nigiri and 6 roles of maki with same ingredients.
All was really tasty: sushi, clear fish broth with finely chopped spring onions and green tea.
Vinegar sushi rice was less seasoned by vinegar than in other places I used to eat sushi, but it was ok.
Waiter places in front of us two small plates, on which we could pour a bit of soya sauce and wasabi to dip our nigiri before we put them into mounth.
I really enjoyed my lunch a lot!
That is why I wanted to eat in Daigen again.
